INDY 500: Team Pelfrey Joins Forces with Curb Agajanian Motorsports

Indianapolis, IN- Indy Racing Northern Light Series competitors Team Pelfrey have joined forces with Curb Agajanian Motorsports for the 84th running of the Indianapolis 500. In an agreement announced today at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the cars driven by Billy Boat and Memo Gidley are now officially entered in the Indianapolis 500 by Team Pelfrey/Curb/Agajanian Motorsports.
As part of the new association with Curb Agajanian Motorsports, Curb Records will be the primary co-sponsor on both team cars. Curb Records is a leader in the recording industry with internationally recognized artists Sawyer Brown, Junior Brown, Lyle Lovett, Hank Williams Jr., Tim McGraw, Jo Dee Messina, LeAnne Rimes, and Wynonna recording on the Curb Records label.
Billy Boat, currently fifth in the Indy Racing Series Championship points battle, raced a Jack Gardner owned sprint car with sponsorship from Curb Records in 1987. "I'm ecstatic to be associated with Mike Curb and Curb Records again," said Boat. "Curb Records has been a fine sponsor of open wheel racing for a long time. I drove a sprint car sponsored by Curb Records at Ascot Speedway and I'm pleased to be associated with them now in the Indianapolis 500."
Mike Curb and Curb Records have made an indelible mark on automobile racing with their significant contribution to the sport. When Richard Petty made racing history by capturing his 200th win in NASCAR competition, Petty's famous number 43 race car was owned by Mike Curb. "I've been involved with Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt," said Curb. "And I've been involved at the Indianapolis 500 with Tom Sneva and Ed Pimm. I'm extremely pleased to be associated with the Indianapolis 500 again, especially with the two talented drivers we have in Billy Boat and Memo Gidley."
Mike Curb and Curb Records currently field a car in the NASCAR Busch Grand National series for driver Jay Sauter. After starting in 11 of the 12 races this season, Sauter currently resides in 15th place in the Busch Grand National Championship standings. He has 3 top-ten finishes this season.
Curb Records also sponsors Brad Noffisinger in the USAC Coors Silver Bullet Series. Noffsinger scored his most recent victory in the Silver Bullet Series at Memphis last season. Noffsinger's third place finish at Gateway International Raceway two weeks ago keeps the Concord, NC driver in second place in the championship standings. In four starts this season Noffsinger has scored three top-five finishes and one pole position.
Team Pelfrey is a proven championship contender in the Indy Racing Northern Light Series. The team has achieved a top-ten finish in every race this season with driver Billy Boat. They made their debut at the Indianapolis 500 in 1998 and has qualified for the race every year. In their inaugural Indy 500 the team led 39 laps before finishing seventh.
