Indianapolis, IN: Indianapolis 500 veteran Raul Boesel is pleased to be returning to the yard of bricks this year as his entry into the famed 2.5 mile superspeedway was announced earlier this morning. Boesel will be behind the wheel of the #55 Epson America sponsored Treadway Racing-Vertex/Cunningham car for the 84th running of the Indianapolis 500.

A seasoned superspeedway navigator, Boesel can boast over 11 career starts at Indianapolis and has logged over 1,800 race laps at the Speedway. He is well known for being a strong Indy competitor and has qualified on the front row twice with a top finish of third in 1993 with car owner Dick Simon. Since his first start in 1985, he has accrued a total of $2, 060,634 in Indy earnings.

The 42-year-old Curitiba, Brazil native is excited to have this opportunity. "It is one of the best chances I have had over the past few years, and I am confident that the combination of my experience and the team's set-ups gives me the potential to be the first Indianapolis 500 winner of the new millennium."

The #55 Blue and Silver G-Force/Aurora/Firestone package is expected to begin on-track practice early next week.
