David Fuhrman of Avon, Ind. scored his first USAC Midget Car
feature
victory Wednesday night in the 50-lap season opener at the Indianapolis
Speedrome, the first of 19 races comprising the 2000 Speedrome Regional
calendar.
Fuhrman passed Norm Young on the ninth lap and led the rest of the way in his Umber's Ace Hardware/Pennzoil machine, earning the initial USAC triumph for a "Kenyon Car" in USAC Speedrome competition and what is believed to be the first-ever USAC Midget Car feature victory for a Yamaha engine!
Trailing Fuhrman to the checkered flag were Daryl Campbell, Brad Kuhn, Matt Lux and Joe Justice. Young and Justice won the 15-lap heat races.
The Indianapolis Speedrome Regional Midget Series continues this coming Wednesday night, May 3, with another 50-lap feature event on tap.
