John Coughlin and his yellow and black JEG'S Mail Order Chevy S-10 faced
off
against Larry Seay in round one. Coughlin had lane choice and took the
left

John grabs the reaction time advantage off of the starting line (.438 to .484). The S-10 launched from the starting line and followed the middle of the groove all the way down track. The JEG'S machine put the win light on and wins by a hole shot. John ran a 7.783 at 173.94 Mph to a loosing 7.782 at 173.36 Mph.
"The first round is always the hardest round to win." John continued, "With as early as it is in the season gaining points now can really give you a lot of momentum."
In the second round John lined up next to Randy Daniels. Coughlin and his JEG'S machine were in the right lane. John grabs the advantage off of the starting line (.445 to .503). Both Chevy S-10's raced to the finishline. The win light came on for Randy Daniels by .009 seconds at the stripe. John ran a 7.790 at 174.14 Mph to Daniels winning 7.723 at 175.37 Mph.
"That was a great drag race, it doesn't get much closer than that." John said, "We will focus on the next race and be ready for battle when we pull into Houston."
