Davidson finished seventh in Saturday night's race at Rossburg, Ohio and second in Sunday's race at Anderson, Ind. and leads Eric Gordon by 11 points going into the April 29-30 "Border Wars VI" races at Rossburg, Ohio and Winchester, Ind.
Gordon, of Indianapolis, Ind., wheeled his Arctic Cat Special to victory in Sunday's 50-lap "Glen Niebel Classic" at the Anderson (IN) Speedway, passing Jason McCord for the lead on the 44th lap. McCord led the first 43 laps of the race but slipped to third at the checkered flag behind Gordon and Davidson. Brian Gerster finished fourth and Jack Hewitt was fifth. Gordon was also the fastest of 27 Sprint car qualifiers at Anderson with a lap at 11.605 seconds.
Drake, of Val Verde, Calif., passed Tracy Hines on the second lap of Saturday night's "Don Branson/Jud Larson Classic" at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, then led the rest of the way in his KECO/Hoosier Tire Special. Danny Smith took second, followed by Kasey Kahne, Tony Elliott and J.J. Yeley. Drake was also the fastest of 50 qualifiers at 15.321 seconds. True Value semi winners included Elliott at Eldora and Tracy Hines at Anderson.
The Stoops Freightliner Sprint Cars now gear up for their annual Stoops "Border Wars VI" events April 29 and 30 at Rossburg, Ohio and Winchester, Ind.
