Mike Sits In The #4 Spot
John Is Ready To Improve From The #10 Position The 2000 NHRA season started today in Pomona, CA at the NHRA AutoZone Winternationals. Every team is tied for first place and wants to walk away the 2000 NHRA Winston Drag Racing Champion at the end of the season.
Mike Coughlin and his JEG'S Mail Order Chevy S-10 are off to a great start. Mike is sitting in the #4 spot after the first of four qualifying sessions. Mike said, "I made a nice run and we have a great baseline to improve from. It's a great feeling to have that first run behind you and begin the 2000 NHRA season."
Mike finished the 1999 NHRA season #4 in the Winston Drag Racing Championship and is looking forward to making a serious run at the 2000 NHRA Championship. Mike explained, "We have all of the resources, talent and ability to put a #1 on a JEG'S Mail Order Chevy S-10."
John Coughlin celebrated his one year anniversary behind the wheel of his JEG'S Mail Order Chevy S-10 during the first qualifying session. John commented, "What a difference a year makes. I feel extremely comfortable driving and I'm really looking forward to racing my JEG'S Mail Order Chevy S-10 this year."
John is currently resting in the #10 position after the first qualifying session. Coughlin explained, "We gained some valuable data from that first run, which will help us for the rest of the weekend. I think that we will be ready to make a move toward the top of the page tomorrow."
