NHRA: Summit Racing Equipment becomes title sponsor of Las Vegas event

THE INAUGURAL SUMMITRACING.COM NHRA NATIONALS

GLENDORA, Calif. -- Summit Racing Equipment, an industry leader in distribution of performance automotive parts and equipment through catalogs and the Internet, has reached a multi-year agreement with the National Hot Rod Association to become the title sponsor for the NHRA Winston Drag Racing Series national event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, NHRA Vice President of Sales Steve Johnson announced.

The inaugural SummitRacing.Com NHRA Nationals is scheduled for April 6-9 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway's newly-constructed, state-of-the-art dragstrip. The race is the fourth of 23 events in the $45 million NHRA Winston Drag Racing Series for 2000.

"We're pleased that Summit Racing has increased their support of the NHRA Winston Drag Racing Series by becoming the title sponsor of an event that we believe will be as extravagant as its host city," Johnson said. "Las Vegas is the fastest growing market in the country and we have the fastest motorsports product on the planet, and now with Summit Racing on board as the title sponsor the package is complete. We're confident that this event sponsorship will greatly benefit Summit Racing's already dynamic partnership with the NHRA."

In addition to the SummitRacing.Com NHRA Nationals, Summit Racing is the primary sponsor for the NHRA Summit Racing Series for bracket racing, Mark Pawuk's Pontiac Firebird in Pro Stock, John Lingenfelter's GMC Sonoma in Pro Stock Truck, Dan Fletcher's '69 Camaro in Super Stock and his '99 Pontiac Firebird in Stock. Summit Racing is also the presenting sponsor for an NHRA Winston Drag Racing Series event in Columbus, Ohio.
