A total of 58 events at 27 race tracks across the country comprise USAC's 2000 Stoops Freightliner Sprint Car and MCI WorldCom National Midget Car schedules, released today.

Included in the schedules are five dates which incorporate both series, including the September 29-30 "4-Crown Nationals" at Rossburg, Ohio which also includes the Coors Light Silver Bullet Cars. Other "doubleheaders" are scheduled at Anderson, Ind. (April 2), Salem, Ind. (August 12), Indianapolis Raceway Park (September 16) and Winchester, Ind. (October 22).

Ten of the announced dates are among 18 USAC races which will be televised in 2000. Beginning with the "Copper World Classic" at Phoenix, Ariz., other tracks hosting televised events are Hawkeye Downs in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Anderson (Ind.) Speedway, Toledo (Ohio) Speedway, Indianapolis Raceway Park, Pikes Peak International Raceway in Fountain, Colo. and Irwindale (Calif.) Speedway.

Tracks listed on the 2000 schedule which did not host 1999 events include Michigan's Hartford Speedway (Hartford) and M-40 Motorsports Arena (Jones), Illinois' Chicago Motor Speedway (Chicago) and Tri-City Speedway (Granite City), Ohio's Toledo Speedway (Toledo), Kansas' Heartland Park Topeka (Topeka), and Indiana's North Vernon Speedway (North Vernon) and Tri-State Speedway (Haubstadt). The Stoops Freightliner Sprint Cars were rained out in their only 1999 scheduled appearance at Granite City. Hartford and North Vernon will play host to events in both series, while Topeka, Chicago and both Michigan ovals will be hosting their inaugural USAC races.

The Stoops Freightliner Sprint Cars open with the "Don Branson/Jud Larson Classic" April 1 at Rossburg, Ohio and close October 22 with the "Sammy Sessions Memorial" at Winchester, Ind. The MCI WorldCom National Midget Cars open with the February 4-6 "Copper World Classic" at Phoenix, Ariz. and close in late-November.

Additional race dates are currently being negotiated and will be released as they become firm.
