Columbus, Ohio---

JEG'S Automotive, Inc. will spend the year 2000 celebrating their 40th Anniversary. The company unveiled their 40th Anniversary logo, which will be used in a variety of fashions throughout the year. The logo will appear in advertising, catalogs, on the company website (JEGS.com) and will be part of the paint scheme on the race team cars, trucks and haulers. In 1960, Jeg Coughlin, Sr., opened JEG'S High Performance in Columbus, Ohio. Being an avid hot rodder, living in the Midwest made it difficult to find the parts he needed for his projects. As he found new sources for speed equipment, Jeg began to build engines for friends and before long, found himself submerged in a retail business catering to motorheads.

In 1988, Jeg's four sons, John, Troy, Mike and Jeg, Jr., purchased the operation from their father. The wheels were set in motion and the company dove headfirst into the mail order business. With a dedicated team of employees who believed in the dream, the seed quickly grew into a blossoming tree of success.

After several expansions, what started out as a 4000 sp. ft. speed shop, now encompasses a 100,000 sq. ft. warehouse, corporate office, distribution center and main retail store. Two other stores are also located in the metropolitan Columbus area. The company recently finished their newest expansion project, a 200,000 plus sq. ft. state-of-the-art distribution center, which will also house corporate offices and a calling center. In addition, a 35,000 sq. ft. research and development facility for their highly successful professional NHRA Winston Drag Racing team. JEG'S High Performance is one of the largest retail and mail order high performance complexes in the world.
