INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis Motor Speedway and St. Clair Apparel, Inc. today announced a major agreement establishing St. Clair Apparel as the "Official Clothier" for the Pep Boys Indy Racing League.

The agreement grants St. Clair Apparel the exclusive rights to be the "Official Clothier" for the 2000 season of the Pep Boys Indy Racing League. Besides marketing commitments to the Pep Boys Indy Racing League, St. Clair Apparel will provide the official clothing for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway staff and the participating Pep Boys Indy Racing League teams. St. Clair Apparel is a licensing partner of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, providing licensed goods both on-site and in the retail marketplace for the Indianapolis 500, Brickyard 400, United States Grand Prix at Indianapolis, Pep Boys Indy Racing League and Comfort Classic at the Brickyard.

"It is a pleasure to welcome St. Clair Apparel to the family of Indianapolis Motor Speedway sponsorship partners," said David Moroknek, director of licensing and consumer products for Indianapolis Motor Speedway. "They have been a business partner with us for six years, and it has been a great relationship. We are confident that both companies will find long-term benefits as the partnership moves forward."

St. Clair Apparel is a 15-year-old, family-owned company based in South Bend, Ind. Its apparel line includes polo shirts, T-shirts, fleece, outerwear and headwear and is sold throughout retail channels in the United States. It is the sister company to Cadre Athletic, Inc., a licensee of professional sports organizations such as the NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL.

"This agreement is a large step for us, and we are proud to be associated with an organization that has such a great history as the Indianapolis Motor Speedway," said Steve St. Clair, president of St. Clair Apparel. "Our company is a very big believer in the Pep Boys Indy Racing League, and we want to support the future of open-wheel racing in this country. We feel that this relationship will help us build a full retail program for the Pep Boys Indy Racing League, its teams and drivers."
