The Pro Stock Truck class ended their second day of qualifying. A total of thirty-two drivers battled to be among the quick sixteen and have a chance to leave Pomona Raceway with a win.

In the third qualifying session John took on the left lane. The yellow and black JEG'S Mail Order Chevy S-10 left the starting line and charged down the middle of the groove. The run was not an improvement over his previous time.

John said, "The truck has been responding consistently. We will continue to fine tune the setup for raceday."

Mike lined up in the left lane in the third session. He left the starting line and the JEG'S machine looked like it was on a string. The truck hooked up well and traveled to the big end. Mike improved for the third time this weekend and ended up in the number twelve spot.

Mike noted, "We are getting closer with each pass down the track."

During the final qualifying session John was in the right lane. John left the starting line beams and cruised "right down broadway". The run looked better than the time slip showed.

John qualified in the number ten spot. He will face off against Brad Jeter in round one tomorrow.

John commented, "We have a solid handle on the setup, we just need to push it a little more. I'm really looking forward to the first round."

Mike lined up in the right lane for his last attempt to improve his qualifying position. The JEG'S Mail Order #28 S-10 left the starting line and made move with the rear. Mike drove the truck back to the center of the groove and to the finishline.

Mike landed in the number thirteen position and will line up next to Greg Stanfield. Coughlin has earned both of his Pro Stock Truck wins from the thirteenth spot.

Mike said, "I think that tomorrow will be a lot like today. We have a good handle on the setup and we are looking forward to going some rounds."

The JEG'S team will work toward the meeting in the final round on Sunday. The JEG'S Pro Stock team started their '99 NHRA season by meeting in the final round of the season opener.
