IRL: Pep Boys Indy Racing League Medical Update

INDIANAPOLIS - Dr. Henry Bock, Pep Boys Indy Racing League director of medical services, issued an update of the conditions of drivers and crew members who remained hospitalized after the Mall.com 500 on Oct. 17 at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth:

Drivers (all injuries suffered during race Oct. 17)

Sam Schmidt: Transferred via air to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for additional surgery this week. Under the care of Dr. Kevin Scheid. In good condition with a fractured left foot and a fractured toe on his right foot.

Robby Unser: Released from Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas.

Crew members (all injuries suffered in pit-road accident during final practice Oct. 16)

Tom Bose: Released from Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth.

Tracy Hash: Transferred via air to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for additional surgery this week. Under the care of Dr. Kevin Scheid. Upgraded to fair condition with a compound fracture of the left leg above the ankle.

Jeff Howerton: Released from John Peter Smith in Fort Worth.
