JEG'S Mail Order Racing, NHRA's largest all-family professional race team is looking forward to continuing to post strong showings. The Pro Stock program has certainly smelled success lately.

Their are four races remaining in the '99 NHRA season for Pro Stock and the drivers know that they are running out of time as each race concludes. '98 NHRA "Rookie of the Year" Jeg Coughlin, Jr is currently in the third position in the Winston Championship with 1,165 points. Jeg trails Kurt Johnson by 94 points and series leader Warren Johnson by 309 points. Coughlin's performance has lengthened the points gap between Jim Yates, who holds down the number five spot with 1,0156 points.

Jeg commented, "We need to focus on doing our correctly and eliminating mistakes for the next four races. Our team performing well and we know what we have to do for the rest of the season-Win."

Troy Coughlin comes into the Auto Zone Nationals fresh off of a final round appearance. Troy's #24 JEG'S Mail Order Olds Cutlass showed a renewed strength in Topeka, which the team always knew was there. Troy has been to five final rounds this season and would like nothing more then to be in the winner's circle on Sunday with his JEG'S Mail Order entry.

Troy is resting in the number eight position with 830 points. Coughlin trails Mike Edwards by a mere 6 points and Troy is only 26 points from taking away the number six position from Mark Pawuk. In addition, with another strong finish this weekend Troy could bump Richie Stevens out of the number five slot.

Troy said, "The consistency of my car is back and the team really has a strong handle on it. I expect that we start the weekend where we left off last week."

JEG'S Pro Stock Trucks Looking To Rearrange The Top Ten

Pro Stock Truck, NHRA's newest professional class has three races remaining in their season. The drivers and team know where they are in the points and what they have to do to more ahead.

Mike Coughlin has shown plenty of strength with his late season charge. Mike and his #28 JEG'S Mail Order Chevy S-10 are in the number four spot with 695 points. Mike has shown that he is a force that his competitors must deal with if they are going to get to the winner's circle.

Brad Jeter's lead over Mike is decreasing as the class is running out of races. Coughlin trails Jeter by 64 points, with another strong performance Mike could leave the Memphis Motorsports Park sitting in the number three position with two races to go.

Mike stated, "We have had a good year so far. Our team is getting stronger with each pass that our trucks make down the track. It think that it will be dog fight until the end of Pomona and our team will be in the thick of it until the end." Mike Coughlin has won two races (Mopar Parts Nationals/US Nationals) this season in his Pro Stock Truck.

'99 NHRA "Rookie of the Year" front-runner John Coughlin is within striking distance of the Pro Stock Truck top ten. John is resting in the number eleven position and is 33 points behind Jerry Haas, who is in the number ten slot. A strong showing could boast John and his #31 JEG'S Mail Order Chevy S-10 into the number eight position.

John said, "Our team has really shown that our performance level has increased since the break that took place before the US Nationals. Richard Maskin and his staff at DART Machinery have been busy refining our engines. Our team is poised to finish the year with a bang."
