USAC: Hoffman Auto Racing Announces Sponsorship

MILFORD, Ohio -- Hoffman Auto Racing of Cincinnati, Ohio announced an agreement with the Kroger Company, in conjunction with the Sunny Delight and Pringles brands of the Procter & Gamble Company, to sponsor their racing team through June of 2000.

The Kroger Company is the nation's largest grocery retailer with over 2200 stores and sales over $42 billion. The Procter & Gamble Company markets such brands as Tide, Pampers, Charmin, Folgers, Sunny Delight and Pringles, with sales over $37 billion. Kroger and P&G will market Sunny Delight and Pringles through Hoffman Auto Racing at selected Kroger divisions throughout the year.

Hoffman Auto Racing competes in the Coors Light Silver Bullet Series and Stoops Freightliner National Sprint Car divisions of the United States Auto Club. Hoffman Auto Racing was founded in 1929 and is the second winningest sprint car team in USAC history. The team competes in approximately 50 events per year from coast to coast.

Hoffman Auto Racing sprint cars are driven by Dave Darland of Kokomo, Ind., currently leading the USAC sprint car standings. The team's Silver Bullet Series cars are driven by Brian Tyler of Anderson, Ind., currently third in the standings.
