USAC: Lang Adds Number 51 to His Speedrome Resume

Michael Lang of Indianapolis, Ind. took another step toward winning a fifth Indianapolis Speedrome USAC Midget Car title Wednesday night, leading all but the first five laps of the 50-lap feature event at the 1/5-mile paved oval in Indianapolis, Ind.Lang caught Marc Longworth on the sixth lap and never looked back as he piloted his Stebbins Aviation/AdTech Floor Care/Keco/IFI/Symbol Mattress Fontana to victory. The win was his fourth in five 1999 starts and boosted him past Norm Young into the series point lead again.
Young finished second to remain in the title hunt, while Gregg Cory, Daryl Campbell and Sean Smith rounded out the "top-five" at the checkered flag. Lang and Young also won the 15-lap feat races.
The Speedrome Midget Car Series continues next Wednesday night with another 50-lap feature scheduled.
