Sprints/Stocks: Humphrey & Hobbs Climb into Point Lead

19 May 1999

BLOOMINGTON, IN - With big feature race wins last Friday, Ray Humphrey and Lee Hobbs took the lead of the UMP Modified and Indiana Street Stock divisions at Bloomington Speedway. Last year's modified champion Matt Tiller fell to fourth in this weeks standings, although only seven points separate the top four. Hobbs earned his second feature win in the first three races, and moved fifteen points ahead of Greg O'Neill.

1997 Pennzoil Cup Sprint Car division champion Brad Fox continues to lead Bloomington's sprint car series on the strength of a second place finish to go with his A-main victory on opening night. Friday's winner, Billy Puterbaugh Jr. advanced to second in the points, only six behind Fox. Justin Marvel jumped to fourth and Kenny Carmichael moved into a tie with last season's Pennzoil Cup winner, Derek Scheffel, for fifth.
