IROC True Value Series, Race One at Daytona on ESPN Saturday

TINTON FALLS, NJ - ESPN will televise the '99 season opener IROC True Value Series race at Daytona on Sunday, April 18, at 4:30 p.m. (Eastern Time.)

Bob Jenkins, the primary commentator of ESPN's award-winning auto racing coverage, serves as host. Joining Jenkins with expert commentary are former IROC race winners, Benny Parsons and Darrell Waltrip, along with Dr. Jerry Punch reporting from the pits.

This is the 19th appearance for IROC at the famous 2.5 mile, high-banked oval. Providing in-car camera shots will be NASCAR Winston Cup Champion Jeff Gordon, defending IROC Champion Mark Martin, and NASCAR Winston Cup driver Rusty Wallace.

The remainder of the 1999 IROC True Value Series drivers are Greg Moore/ FedEx Championship Series, Dale Earnhardt/ NASCAR Winston Cup Series, Dale Earnhardt Jr./NASCAR Busch Series, Kenny Brack/Pep Boys Indy Racing League, Bobby Labonte/NASCAR Winston Cup Series, Eddie Cheever Jr./Pep Boys Indy Racing League, Dale Jarrett/NASCAR Winston Cup Series, Adrian Fernandez/FedEx Championship Series, and Jeff Burton/NASCAR Winston Cup Series.

The True Value International Race of Champions is a four race, invitational series, which results in 12 of the world's best drivers from various forms of auto racing battling each other in equal cars at different race tracks. The championship is determined by points at the end of the 4th event.
