9 January 1999
Clarks Summit, PA- Although the calendar says that its late-December, George Suprick and the Everlast Quality Natural Stone Racing team is in full swing in their preparations for the 1999 Central Pennsylvania Sprint Car season. The Clarks Summit (PA) resident is coming off his first full season in 410 Sprint Car action and is looking forward to the season ahead. Suprick says, "1998 was a tough season for us, but John (team co-owner Deuel) and I are looking to make great strides in the coming season. Well have two new cars in the stable, and are making the switch to Eagle Chassis and the power will still be supplied by Don Ott Racing Engines. We plan to concentrate on the points chase at Selinsgrove (PA) Speedway, and we will also be at Williams Grove (PA) on Friday nights. Also in the plans are to expand our World of Outlaws participation, and were looking to focus on Pennsylvania Speedweeks as well. Were proud that once again well have Everlast Quality Natural Stone on board this season along with the return Pennzoil, Castle Products, and Afco, and were looking to represent them in a winning, professional manner in 1999."1998 Recap: George Suprick and the Everlast Quality Natural Stone Racing Team saw a successful season in 1998 despite a few setbacks, including a devastating crash at Selinsgrove that sidelined the pilot of the #87 for five weeks due to injuries suffered in the crash. The team finished tenth in the Selinsgrove Speedway points standings, and won three heat races at the Pennsylvania facility. Running with the World of Outlaws, Supricks best finish was a 17th at Middletown Speedway. Suprick also picked up checkered flags in WoO heat race action at Rolling Wheels (NY) Raceway, and in a Lebanon Valley (NY) B-Main event. Suprick returned to his 360-Sprint Car Racing roots by participating in six events with the Empire Super Sprint series. His best finish with "Americas Race Cars" was a fourth place at Can-Am Speedway after starting 17th.
