BMW Drivers Worst for Illegal Number Plates

Hi,

Having an illegal number plate that either does not comply with
regulations, is indistinguishable, or worse of all- missing could result in
a fine of up to £1,000 and could fail your MOT.

Regtransfers have undertaken a massive study to discover which drivers were
most likely to have a faulty plate, and the results were surprising.

We discovered that:

· *The majority of offences were plates that failed to conform to
the regulations*, i.e. specifically tampering with a plate by changing the
spacing

· Per 100,000 people, *North Wales was the worst region* for number
plate offences

· By Comparison the *West Midlands was the area with proportionally
the least number* of illegal plates

· *BMW drivers were by far more likely to have an illegal plate*
than any other make of car, making up 13% of total offences

· Less sporty but just as popular models such as *Skodas and Fiats
had substantially less offences*, 107 and 125 respectively, compared to
1,998 BMW offences

All this data and more is available here:

We can also send you the raw data if you require specific breakdowns of
particular offences, car makes, and regions.

Many thanks,
