The poster for one of the best collector car shows in the country was revealed this week at the Automotive Hall of Fame in Dearborn. Renowned fine artist and member of the Automotive Fine Art Society, Tom Fritz of Newbury Park, CA, produced a stunning image of a 1934 Auburn Boat-tailed Speedster and the front of a Duesenberg Model J with the cars’ designer, Alan H. Leamy. The background depicts the sunrise over the Eleanor and Edsel Ford House traditional site of the EyesOn Design show now in its 27th year. These event posters have become collectable.

EyesOn Design was founded by Tom Gale, former VP of Design for Chrysler, Dr, Phillip Hessberg, founder and chairman of the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology and a cadre of other designers and collectors to celebrate the design elements of the automobile and other things vehicular. To be featured at the show a vehicle need not be carefully restored, rare or expensive, rather it must represent the design theme determined by the show organizers.

The main theme for the 2015 EyesOn Design show is “House Style” featuring a variety of classes that illustrate the unique styles of particular designers and companies. Honorary chairman Ralph Gilles, Senior VP of Chrysler Product Design will preside and the annual Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to Patrick le Quement, retired chief designer for Renault.

The EyesOn Design show will be presented at the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores beginning at 10 AM on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 21st. Admission is $25 with children under 12 and active duty military free. Proceeds support the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology, now part of the Henry Ford Health System, making possible, among other projects, an international research conference called “The Eye, The Brain and The Auto” exploring the relationship between vision and driving.
