Deland, Dec. 31, 2012: Muehlner Motorsports America, LLC will return to GRAND-AM in 2013, entering a pair of Porsche GT3s in the Rolex 24 At Daytona with plans to campaign one car in the full Rolex Sports Car Series season.

The team recently relocated its headquarters to DeLand, Fla., less than 20 miles away from Daytona International Speedway, which hosts the 51st Rolex 24 At Daytona.

This will mark the third straight year that the team will compete in the Rolex 24. After running one car in 2011, the team ran two Porsches in the 2012 event.

Canadian Mark J. Thomas – who now resides in Baku, Azerbaijan – will co-drive the team’s No. 18 Porsche at Daytona for the third consecutive year. Team principal Bernhard Muehlner is in the process of finalizing his remaining lineups.

The team is the U.S. branch of Muehlner Motorsports, which is headquartered at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. Entering the 2012 FIA GT1 World Championship under the name EXIM Bank Team China, Muehlner Motorsport won from the pole at Zolder – Porsche’s lone victory of the season. The team also competed in the ADAC GT Masters and the CityChallenge Event in Baku, Azerbaijan. Muehlner’s European-based component plans to concentrate on Porsche Supercup in 2013, supporting the European races of the Formula One season.

Both in the USA and in Europe, the team’s club sport department, M-Service, will support numerous Porsche customers both with the workshops in Francorchamps and De Land as well as locally on circuit.
