Millington, Dec. 1, 2012: Memphis International Raceway and Holly Springs Motorsports are pleased to announce their 2013 Bracket Series schedules together. Both schedules will include 14 races and a points fund at the end of the year for all track champions and racers finishing in the top 18 for Super Pro and Footbrake; top 8 in DOT; and top 4 in Juniors at Memphis and track Champions and racers finishing in the top 16 at Holly Springs.

In 2012 the two tracks ran similar programs independently. In 2013, the programs will remain independent, but the schedules will run collaboratively and not overlap. This allows the racers to participate in both programs without sacrificing a point’s race at either facility. With two top notch facilities in such close proximity to one another, this is a win for everyone, the racers, tracks and fans!

In 2013 - Memphis will run Super Pro, Footbrake, DOT, and Juniors as point’s classes. There will be a points fund established for all four classes. DOT is an addition to the points program. There are many participants who support this class and it will give them an opportunity to be rewarded for their dedication.

“This is an exciting and important venture to grow bracket racing in the mid-south and increase participation for both facilities” said Pam Kendrick, vice president and general manager of Memphis International Raceway. Kendrick continued “by working together it will build strength in each program and give the racers opportunities at both venues to compete, while giving each track a chance to have some fun at the end of the year in the run off, it will be exciting!”

In 2013 – Holly Springs will run SuperPro and Footbrake as point’s classes.

“We are VERY excited to be working with Memphis International Raceway on our schedules to help the racer have two places to race, compete for track championships, at two top notch facilities.” Said Jabbo Forsythe. Forsythe continues “with the tough economy today it will benefit all parties involved, tracks and racers. The point’s race off at the end of the season is going to be the highlight of the year.”

The two tracks will come together in November 23-24, 2013 to hold a run off between the points leaders at each track combined with a bracket race as well. It will be a 2-day event, with one day being held at each track. This event will be structured to show appreciation for the racer’s support and dedication to growing both of these programs. The details of this event are still ongoing and will be shared as soon as they are available.

The Memphis points standing at the end of the 14-race series will also determine the team for the IHRA Team Finals to be held on October 3-6, 2013. In 2012, Memphis had a team of 40 racers (18 Box, 18 No Box, and 4 Juniors) participate in the event and claimed the championship. Memphis will host the team finals in 2013 and look to put a strong team in the Finals for 2013!
