LONG BEACH, Apr. 14, 2012: Will Power topped the time chart in a stop-start practice session to precede the three rounds of qualifications for the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.

Power, driving the No. 12 Verizon Team Penske car, had a best lap 1 minute, 10.7553 seconds on the 1.968-mile, 11-turn course in a 60-minute session that had more stoppage time than green flag time with cars going off course. Drivers didn't get much track time April 13 because of a wet track in the morning and a rainstorm in the afternoon.

Qualifications are at 5 p.m. (ET). Watch and listen via real-time Timing & Scoring augmented by the IMS Radio Network's call.

Power has won the past three poles on the streets of Long Beach, two of which lead to podium finishes. He has won the pole at three of the last five road/street course races. He won the race in 2008.

Ryan Hunter-Reay, who won the race in 2010, was second quick (1:10.7723) in the No. 28 Team DHL/Sun Drop Citrus Soda car.
