New York, Feb. 28, 2012: NASCAR pushed Fox to an overall win for the night, though the lack of time zone adjusted numbers will likely paint a different picture later in the day. The race -- which saw Juan Pablo Montoya slam into 200 gallons of jet fuel -- averaged a 4.5 among adults 18-49. Fox brought in 14.2 million viewers.
On NBC, The Voice netted a 5.4 rating with adults 18-49, according to fast national ratings. That's four tenths shy of its previous fast national and six tenths shy of its last final. Despite the decline, Smash managed to climb a notch in its fourth outing. The drama improved 4 percent for a 2.4 in the demo. Altogether, the net averaged a 4.4 in the demo and 12.1 million viewers.
NASCAR took a much harder toll on CBS. The network experienced lows across the board, with Two & a Half Men, Mike & Molly and Hawaii Five-0 taking the hardest hits. The three pulled in 3.6, 2.9 and 2.5 ratings among adults 18-49 between them. How I Met Your Mother and 2 Broke Girls didn't take as much damage, dropping a respective 5 and 8 percent, for 3.6 and 3.7 scores in the demo. CBS pulled in 10 million viewers and a 3.1 rating for the night.
ABC managed small gains with The Bachelor and Castle. The series pulled 2.6 and 2.2 adults 18-49 showings, respectively, pushing the network to an overall score of 2.4 for the night. ABC averaged 8.3 million viewers.
