NOTES/NEWS

Follow CGR on Twitter: Follow @CGRTeams for official updates from Chip Ganassi Racing’s IZOD IndyCar Series drivers Graham Rahal and Charlie Kimball.

Team Manager Mitch Davis on New Hampshire Motor Speedway: “We’re excited to get the No. 38 Service Central car and the No. 83 Levemir and NovoLog FlexPen car back on an oval and for the first time at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. We haven’t ran an oval in a little over a month, but Novo Nordisk Chip Ganassi Racing and Service Central Chip Ganassi Racing have been making a lot progress on road courses. Graham Rahal and Charlie Kimball both love the one-mile oval style of racing, so we’re looking forward to having great results at the “Magic Mile”. We’re well prepared this weekend even though we only had a one-day turn around. It’s going to be a great event.”

Graham Rahal and the No. 38 Service Central Team

Follow Graham on Twitter: Follow @GrahamRahal for updates as the driver of the No. 38 Service Central Honda completes his first season with Service Central Chip Ganassi Racing in the IZOD IndyCar Series.

National Tire and Battery: NTB will be the co-primary on the No. 38 Service Central car for the MoveThatBlock.com Indy 225 at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. NTB is an industry-leading tire retailer that specializes in tire and battery replacement as well as offering many enhanced mechanical services. For more information, please visit www.ntb.com.

Making his Mark: Rahal will turn his first-ever laps at New Hampshire Motor Speedway this weekend and is seeking to add to his family’s legacy at the “Magic Mile” after his father, Bobby Rahal, won the first Indy car race on the one-mile oval in 1992.

Rahal on New Hampshire Motor Speedway: “I’m really looking forward to racing at New Hampshire Motor Speedway this weekend. It’s exciting for me because Dad won the very first CART race there. The mile-long tracks have been good to me in the past, so this race comes at a good time to turn my luck around. I feel the “Magic Mile” will definitely provide an opportunity for the Service Central Chip Ganassi Racing team to gain points and move up in the championship. I’ve been anticipating the race at this track all season because there is so much Indy car history and it’s new to many of us. Most of the current IZOD IndyCar Series drivers have never raced at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, but we’ve been pushing for it because we know it will be exciting. It’s different than Milwaukee because it’s slightly banked. We’re aiming to have a great result in the No. 38 Service Central/NTB car.”

Success on an Oval: Rahal has scored 14 top-10 finishes and seven top-five finishes on ovals in his IZOD IndyCar Series career.

Did you know?: With a win at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Rahal would capture his first-ever career win on a oval. He became the youngest winner in Indy car racing history at 19 years, three months and two days when he took the checkered flag on the Streets of St. Petersburg in 2008.

In the Points: Rahal holds eighth-place in the IZOD IndyCar Series points standings, 198 markers behind overall leader Dario Franchitti.
