LOUDON, July 15, 2011: It was out with the old and in with the new today at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, as the new state-of-the-art Panasonic scoreboard was officially unveiled.

Race fans joined former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver and ESPN analyst Ricky Craven, NHMS executive vice president and general manager Jerry Gappens and K&N Pro Series East driver Eddie MacDonald, who waved the green flag to launch the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 weekend.

This new $1.2 million fan amenity boasts three 32-foot-by-18-feet Panasonic TV screens, providing impressive views of race action and instant replays. Below the video boards will be a scrolling leaderboard with color graphics that gives fans running positions and lap times for all 43 drivers. The sign will also offer interesting race statistics and event information.

"From all of the fan feedback, including letters, emails and fan forums, a new scoreboard system has been one of the biggest requests in regards to facility upgrades," said Gappens. "Our chairman Bruton Smith listened to fans and is now giving them one of the best scoreboard systems in the world. This will truly enhance the live experience for our ticketing-buying fans."

"As a driver who has raced here since the first Nationwide Series race in 1990, I can attest to the fans, that this organization does all it can to make your experience better," said Craven. "This scoreboard is great for the fans, but now the drivers can see what position they are in and that may cause a few cautions," he then joked.
