SAO PAULO, May 2, 2011: Service Central Chip Ganassi Racing driver Graham Rahal finished second in the IZOD IndyCar Series Itaipava Sao Paulo Indy 300 presented by Nestle on Monday, May 2, 2011.

The No. 38 Service Central Honda started from the fifth position and ran consistently in the top-five for the first 10 laps. Heavy rain rolled through the Sao Paulo area on lap 14 and would force INDYCAR officials to postpone the race until Monday, May 2.

The Service Central team restarted the rain-delayed race from fifth and would continue to battle up-front until the wet track conditions caused Rahal to spin but continue in the middle of the field. The Service Central car avoided on-track trouble and used pit strategy to find its way to the top-two with 10 minutes remaining in the two-hour timed race. Rahal would ultimately take home his first podium finish with Service Central Chip Ganassi Racing.

With the finish, Rahal gained 12 positions in the IZOD IndyCar Series point standings and currently sits eighth.

Up next for Service Central Chip Ganassi Racing is the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 29, 2011 (12:00 p.m. ET, ABC).
