NASCAR drivers Sorenson, Stenhouse Jr.,Kvapil, Joined By Covington, Meet And Greet At Nashville

LEBANON, March 30, 2011: Just more than three weeks before the cars take to the track for the first of two NASCAR doubleheader weekends at Nashville Superspeedway, a handful of drivers and a musician made a visit to the track.

NASCAR drivers Reed Sorenson, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Travis Kvapil were joined by musician Bucky Covington, of American Idol fame, to meet and greet fans at Nashville Superspeedway on Tuesday. They joined 600 Nashville Superspeedway season ticket holders, who were rewarded with free Richard Petty Driving Experience laps around the 1.33-mile concrete track. The event, called the “Season Ticket Holder Test Session,” was presented by Pizza Hut.

After lunch, Sorenson, Stenhouse and Kvapil got behind the wheel to give media, sponsors and fans fast-paced rides around the track.

“This track obviously has some significance for me, as the site of my first NASCAR Nationwide Series win,” said Reed Sorenson, driver of the No. 32 Dollar General Chevrolet. “It was great to be able to share this experience with race fans at the track.”

Buck and Lynn Hickman, from Memphis, Tenn., bought Nashville Superspeedway season tickets for the first time this year. “This has been an awesome experience,” said Buck Hickman. “No other track has offered us an opportunity like this, that’s for sure.”

Gary and Sheila Hunter, from Bruceton, Tenn., drove 2.5 hours to attend the festivities. “It was definitely worth the drive,” said Gary Hunter. “We’ve held season tickets since the track opened. We had an incredible time, and can't wait for race weekend to get here."

The drivers were also in town to visit Nashville media outlets early Tuesday morning to promote the new, reduced ticket prices for Nashville Superspeedway events in 2011. Tickets for NASCAR Nationwide Series races at Nashville on April 23 start at just $30, while tickets for the "Bully Hill Vineyards 200" NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on April 22 start at $25. Juniors, age 14 and under, can attend any event for $10.

Season tickets are just $129 for adults and $40 for juniors under 14. A season ticket package includes tickets to all four NASCAR events, and an ALL ACCESS pass for NASCAR Nationwide Series events, Fan Walk access for all events and a season parking pass, among other great amenities.

Sorenson, Stenhouse and Kvapil and the rest of the stars from the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series will return to the track for the April 22-23, 2011 NASCAR race weekend.
