Sebring, March 25, 2011: Young Australian talent, Luke Ellery broke through for an emphatic victory on the bumpy Sebring International Raceway in Florida, USA.
Having never driven the circuit before, Ellery jumped into his #85 JDC Motorsports Van Dieman and worked his way to the front in only his Second USF2000 Race weekend.

The 21 year old Victorian resident won the final race of the weekend by over 2 seconds, after a race long scrap with the top 6 contenders. While forced to deal with a multi-car heated battle for position, often going two and three wide, the talented Australian was ultimately able to pass for the lead. Once out front, the JDC rookie steadily extended his advantage, crossing the line two seconds ahead of second place to score the first race win of his International career
Ellery said after the race: “I am very satisfied with the result here at Sebring. We worked so hard all week and got a solid result with zero testing. It’s been so hard for me to celebrate or even get excited with what we achieved because I am so focussed on this Championship. Leading the points going into next weekend could put pressure on some people, but I see it as a mini head start in the right direction. Bring on St. Petersburg - a level playing ground for everyone, it should be a very interesting weekend with all of those concrete walls. I can’t wait!”
Ellery now heads into the 3rd and 4th rounds of the USF2000 National Championship leading on points. He will return to racing next week, in support of the IZOD IndyCar Series at St. Petersburg, Florida, USA.
