Intercontinental Trophy Cup Series First Official Test Thursday, 24th

Indianapolis, March 23, 2011: Intercontinental Trophy Cup (ITC) officials and competitors are set to converge at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) in Alton, Virginia this coming Thursday (24th) for the series' first official test day. The test in being run in conjunction with the National Auto Sport Association's (NASA) opening race meeting which takes place over the weekend (25th-27th). NASA is the sanctioning body for Intercontinental Trophy Cup events.

ITC principal Dougie Livingston will be on hand along with other series officials to welcome drivers and brief them on future events for the series. They will also take the opportunity to talk to interested parties looking to enter the series as the competition get set to start just three weeks later (April 15th) at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, New Jersey.

"We are looking forward to a good turnout as teams and individual competitors have been hard at work preparing their cars for this first test" commented Livingston. ""We are expecting this to be a good session for teams and drivers to do a thorough shakedown on the cars in preparation for the opening round in New Jersey. This will also be an opportunity for our sponsors, supporters, teams and competitors to work closely together to develop relationships that will increase the profile of the series."

While the VIR event is listed only as official practice for ITC competitors, they will be able to enter the NASA event running that weekend as a further opportunity to run their cars and test under race conditions.
