Online Tickets Available for 2011 Bakersfield, CA March Meet Drag Race

BAKERSFIELD, Nov. 29, 2010: Good news: Tickets to nostalgia drag racing’s premier event, the 2011 March Meet, Mar. 18-20, Auto Club Famoso Raceway, are now on sale at www.autoclubfamosoraceway.com, and they cost the same as they did for last year’s race.

According to Blake Bowser, vice president and general manager of the Kern County Racing Association, operators of Auto Club Famoso and producers of the fabled March Meet (now in its 53rd year), race fans can purchase a Super 3-Day Pass for $75 online now, just in time for the Holidays. Each order will be sent a conformation letter detailing the purchase. The conformation letter is used to claim tickets at the will call booth the week of the event beginning March 15, 2011. Bowser said there are no service charges for tickets purchased online.

Also available online are downloadable forms for race entries, car show registration and camping. “I know we’re a few months out,” Bowser said, “but space is limited and will start to fill up.”

VIP ticket upgrades are also available now online. New this year, all ticket holders can upgrade their general admission tickets for seating in the Quarter Mile Courtyard. Upgrades are available on-line or daily at the event. Don’t miss your chance for the ultimate March Meet experience. The Quarter Mile Courtyard provides ticket holders exclusive seating and viewing near the starting line that is elevated to give an excellent vista of the race track. Also included with admission upgrade; private restrooms, exclusive food and beverage vendor and an enclosed courtyard seating area. Limited seating is available.

Advanced 3 day tickets will also be available at the track starting on Tuesday Mar. 15.

Now celebrating 53 years of racing, the March Meet is a three-day speedfest that enthusiasts call ‘the jewel of Nostalgia Racing.’ It attracts drag racers and spectators from around the world and also includes a hot rod car show, swap meet and a vendors’ midway. The 2011 March Meet will be held Mar. 18-20 at historic Auto Club Famoso Raceway.

Daily tickets; $25 for Fri., Mar. 18; $30 for Sat., Mar. 19; and $30 for Sun., Mar. 20.
