Vero Beach, September 27, 2010: After taking the 2010 Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear by storm this season with a record-breaking nine pole positions, 11 podiums and record-tying seven wins, Juncos Racing will head to the season finale at Road Atlanta this weekend having already clinched the driver's championship with young talent Conor Daly. Still up for grabs for Juncos Racing are the Team Championship title and the first annual Visit Florida Cup. With a significant lead in the latter competition, Daly only needs to finish 16th or better in the race to claim the state-sponsored "championship-within-a-championship" title in which the prize is a custom dream vacation in Florida.

Juncos Racing has continued to chase the Team Championship all season and as it stands, is 22 points behind veteran team, Andersen Racing in second place. The team is aiming to place at least two of its drivers on the podium in order to potentially win the coveted title, and with Rusty Mitchell's best official finish of the season being fourth at O'Reilly Raceway Park and Tatiana Calderon's being sixth at Autobahn Country Club, the two teammates of Daly are right on the brink of achieving their first podium finishes of the season.

Also joining Juncos Racing for the popular finale event at Road Atlanta is 2010 USF2000 driver, Martin Scuncio. The 19-year-old Chilean native has won multiple karting championships in Chile and from 2006-2008, he competed in the Chilean Formula 3 Series, scoring his first win in 2007 and winning the Championship title in 2008. Scuncio tested a Formula Mazda for the first time just last week, making this weekend Scuncio's official debut in the Star Mazda Championship as well as his debut at the world-famous 2.54-mile road course at Road Atlanta.

Juncos Racing dominated last year's event at Road Atlanta with Irish racecar driver Peter Dempsey (who will be competing in the Petit Le Mans this year) who topped the time sheets in all four official sessions and won both the pole position and the race. The impressive results in the team's rookie season last year combined with the incredible results delivered this season give Juncos Racing a boost of confidence as well as an apparent advantage going into the event this season, both major positives as the season comes to a close.

The anticipated finale event of the 2010 Star Mazda Championship begins with a promoter test day tomorrow, September 28, followed by official practice sessions on Wednesday, qualifying on Thursday and the race on Friday. The 45-minute race will also be broadcast live in over 150 million homes on HDNet television beginning at 11:55 a.m. on Friday, October 1. For more information, please go to www.juncosracing.com.
