Alpinestars Says Thank You To Conor Daly With Celebration Footwear

Monza, September 14, 2010: In celebration of his Formula Star Mazda championship win, Alpinestars athlete Conor Daly was presented with a custom made pair of racing boots in Monza, Italy during the Italian Grand Prix weekend. They feature Conor's trademark green color with his initials CD in green, white & orange, in deference to his Irish heritage and to the team colors of his winning Juncos Racing team. "We are all very proud of Conor's record setting achievements this season in America, said Eduerdo Torres Munez, racing development Alpinestars (pictured). "He has a very bright future and we at Alpinestars wanted to show our appreciation for him representing our brand in such a professional and successful manner".

Daly has had a record setting season in the Star Mazda championship presented by Goodyear, setting new records for the number of pole positions (9) and the number of podium finishes (11) in a single season. He has also scored 7 wins and will chase the ultimate record of 8 wins in a single season at the final round of the championship in Road Atlanta during the Petite Le Mans weekend. Conor will wear the celebration footwear during the final round of the Formula Star Mazda championship presented by Goodyear, October 1st, during the ALMS Petite Le Mans weekend.

In 2009 Conor was a member of the MAZDASPEED driver development ladder system. He was one of six race winners in the Star Mazda championship presented by Goodyear and finished third in the championship. In 2008 Conor won the Walter Hayes Formula Ford Trophy in England as a member of the Team USA Scholarship, the Ontario Formula Ford Rookie of the Year title, and the Mazda Skip Barber National championship.
