DOVER, August 19, 2010: With the release of the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series calendar by NASCAR, Dover International Speedway has solidified its event dates for next season. The Monster Mile will host the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series on May 13-15, 2011, and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series and the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East on Sept. 30-Oct. 2, 2011.

The Oct. 2, 2011 race at the Monster Mile will be the third race in the “Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.” Dover has hosted a Chase race every season since the inception of the playoff format in 2004.

“Overall, we’re happy with our dates for 2011 and we think our fans will be too,” said Denis McGlynn, president and CEO of Dover Motorsports, Inc. “Our dates are a little more separated from those of other tracks in the region; our weather should be more comfortable for everyone; and there will be less conflict with beach traffic on both weekends. Also, moving to the third race in the Chase is another plus.”

Tickets for the May 13-15, 2011 race weekend will go on sale to the public on Oct. 11, 2011, and tickets for the Sept. 30-Oct. 2, 2011 will be available to the public on Dec. 13, 2010. Returning fans still have the opportunity to renew their same seats for the fall 2011 race weekend until Nov. 4, 2010. The renewal deadline for the spring 2011 events has passed.

Dover International Speedway continues to offer event ticket insurance for all events, along with an array of ticket options including special three-day ticket packages, all-inclusive hospitality packages, early buy discounts, new-for-2011 family and junior pricing, and a variety of payment plans.

NASCAR returns to the Monster Mile on Sept. 24-26, 2010. For more information, or to purchase tickets, call 1-800-441-RACE or visit DoverSpeedway.com.
