25th Year For DEGA's Ultimate Party With A Purpose

Race Fever Dinner and Auction – October 29, 2010

TALLADEGA, June 11, 2010: This year marks 25 years that the racing community and AIDB have partnered in what has become Talladega’s Ultimate Party with a Purpose – Race Fever! Race fans from across the country and Canada converge on the SPEED Channel Dome at the International Motorsports Hall of Fame on Friday evening of the fall race weekend. That’s right, if you are planning to attend the 2010 AMP Energy Event Weekend at Talladega Superspeedway October 29-Oct 31, 2010, have we got another HOT ticket for you!

Race Fever began in 1986, when former NASCAR Chairman, the late Bill France, Jr. organized the first event to benefit children and adults served by AIDB. This event has come a long way since its beginnings on the football field at the Alabama School for the Deaf and Blind raising $12,000. Through the continued support and coordination between the racing community, AIDB and Talladega Superspeedway, Race Fever has grown steadily and in 25 years has raised close to $3.0 million for AIDB Foundation, the designated charity of Talladega Superspeedway.

Your ticket includes admission to the event, an all-you-can-eat barbecue feast, the chance to meet dozens of NASCAR drivers, and an opportunity to bid on remarkable race memorabilia, vacation packages and other items donated by businesses and friends of AIDB. Event tickets are $50 or gather a group of friends a reserve a table for 8 for $350. Sponsorships are also available!

Numerous racing greats and other special guests made appearances at the 2009 event including Kyle Petty, Bobby Labonte, Kurt Busch, Brian Vickers, David Ragan, Greg Biffle, Bobby Allison, Donnie Allison, Joey Logano, Matt Kenseth, country music’s The Lost Trailers, Rob and Ryno from CMT’s Trick my Truck, ESPN’s own Dr. Jerry Punch just to name a few!

This year’s event will prove to be another FAN-tastic time for all attendees. Participate in our over 200 item Silent Auction containing numerous autographed race memorabilia and our live auction is sure to please with an opportunity to bid and win once-in-a-lifetime race experiences and other amazing items.

Race Fever is the largest source of unrestricted funds for the AIDB Foundation. Through the five campuses and eight regional centers throughout Alabama, AIDB serves thousands of children and adults who are deaf, blind and multi-disabled in all 67 counties of Alabama.
