Joliet, June 7, 2010: After a solid qualifying pass on Saturday afternoon, Bob Tasca III and the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Racing team were eager to start eliminations on Sunday morning. Unfortunately, their day was cut short during the second round.

Tasca entered Sunday’s eliminations in the fourth position where he would face the 13th qualifier Dale Creasy Jr. This was the pair’s first meeting in elimination rounds.

Tasca defeated Dale Creasy Jr., with a 4.201 second pass at 301.27 miles per hour. Creasy was first off the line but Tasca took the lead just before the 1,000 foot mark and advanced to the second round. Creasy ran a 4.272 second pass at 289.07 miles per hour. Tasca’s margin of victory was 0.0144 seconds, approximately six feet.

In the second round, Tasca faced Jack Beckman. Tasca was quicker out of the gate, but started smoking the tires around 200 feet and lost traction at 660 feet. Tasca ran a 5.124 second pass at 150.58 miles per hour, compared to Beckman’s 4.121 second pass at 302.55 miles per hour.

Tasca and the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Racing team are scheduled to test the final elements of the BOSS 500 engine platform at Route 66 Dragway on Monday.

The NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series returns to the track next weekend in Englishtown, New Jersey. Tasca will be sporting the blue and white colors of FordParts.com next week, marking the public launch of the online catalog.
