CONCORD, N.C.--Under its DIRTcar Racing brand, the World Racing Group (OTCBB: DMSP) just concluded its highly successful Super DIRT Week at the New York State Fairgrounds as well as its DIRTcar Racing UMP Championships at Tony Stewart’s Eldora Speedway. Super DIRT Week has grown to be the second largest motor sports event in New York, exceeded only by NASCAR at Watkins Glen.
A special two-hour broadcast on SPEED at 5 p.m. on Oct. 28 will show the featured Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series Rite Aid 200 in addition to all of the festivities that go into making Super DIRT Week a destination event for fans.
Rite Aid and Advance Auto Parts joined nearly 20 different organizations — including ITT Corporation’s Goulds Pumps, ‘Dig Safely-New York’ and Aramark — in playing key roles with event partnerships during these events.
With nearly 1,000 teams competing at DIRTcar Racing events in New York and Ohio, the World Racing Group and its DIRTcar Racing controlled the motorsports spotlight for the past week. Over 200 teams from the Midwest competed for prestigious DIRTcar Racing UMP championships at Eldora Speedway and more than 300 teams from the Northeast raced on the Moody Mile in Syracuse for a piece of the Super DIRT Week prize money,
“The support from our corporate partners, race teams and members of the media along with strong fan attendance makes events such as Super DIRT Week and the DIRTcar UMP championships not only possible, but a huge success for World Racing Group in 2007,” said World Racing Group president Tom Deery. “We were excited to see partners Rite Aid and Advance Auto Parts return on such a grand scale but equally pleased to see so many other new and returning partners in these events, as well. We continue to expand the participation of new marketing partners which is encouraging as we look forward to 2008.”
Not only did fans turn out in big numbers to see the event in person, but also online at SuperDIRTcarSeries.com and DIRTVision.com, where much of the action was broadcast live, including a video Cybercast of the Goulds Pumps/ITT “Salute to the Troops” 150.
