· Come Play at CGRFS on Kid’s Day this May: If you plan to be in the Charlotte, N.C., area the week leading up to the 600 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, be sure your kids don’t miss out on their day at Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (CGRFS) Wednesday, May 23. Kids ages 3 to 12 are invited to visit to the team’s Concord race shop to get a behind-the-scenes look at the cars before they head to the track and learn more about the mechanics of racing with a special Tech Talk session. Scott Pruett, co-driver of the CGRFS No. 01 TELMEX Lexus-Riley Daytona Prototype in the Rolex Sports Car Series, will make a special appearance reading his three children’s books, “Twelve Little Race Cars,” “Twelve More Little Race Cars” and “Rookie Racer.” Members of the CGRFS pit crews will demonstrate their pit stop techniques, too. Kids won’t leave empty handed either, as they will get to make memories at the photo and craft station. Snacks and beverages will also be on the house! · It’s All about our Fans: CGRFS will wave the yellow flag on Friday, May 25, and take a break from racing 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET to thank its fans for their support. The Second Annual CGRFS Fan Appreciation Day will involve a variety of activities at the team’s Concord, N.C., race shop, including pit stop demonstrations, games and prizes. A complimentary lunch will be provided by TUMS, but don’t forget to bring in your non-perishable food items to help TUMS Relief for Hunger. All donations will support Speedway Children’s Charities Second Harvest food bank. · Points Update: This past weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, the No. 41 team’s strong late-race run came to an end on lap 109 of the 120-lap race, when Sorenson got caught up in the notorious superspeedway bump drafting incident. The encounter ended the day for the Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit crew in 27th place. Luckily, the crash didn’t impact the Busch team’s points standing too greatly, where it is now listed in 26th place just one spot back from where it ranked last week. The team is just 185 points outside the top 10, and 122 away from the top 15.

· My Hometown: Ryan Quann, the No. 41 Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit catch can man, calls Richmond his home. He grew up in the Virginia town and graduated from Midlowthian High School in 1996. He has been with CGRFS for seven years. In addition to his Busch duties, he goes over the wall as the extra man on NEXTEL Cup race days for the No. 42 Texaco/Havoline team. Through the week, he works in the composite shop at CGRFS in Concord, N.C.

· Chassis: The bright yellow Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit colors will be carried by chassis #655 this weekend at Richmond in the second night race of the 2007 season. Chassis #655 has raced only two other times, both at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR). Its first run was at PIR last fall, when Sorenson and the No. 41 CGRFS Busch team turned a top-15 start (13th) into a top-10 finish (seventh). Then, just last month the same car helped David Stremme and the No. 41 Wrigley’s Winterfresh® crew score an 11th-place finish at the Arizona track (started 18th).

· When to Watch: The Circuit City 250 is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. ET Friday, May 4, and will broadcast live on ESPN2 (TV), MRN (Radio) and Sirius Satellite Radio channel 128. Qualifying for the 250-lap Busch race is scheduled to take place at 4:05 p.m. ET Friday, and will broadcast live on SPEED.

· Lagasse Jr. Scores First Win at Kansas: Scott Lagasse Jr. scored his career-first ARCA/REMAX victory in the Kansas Lottery $150 Grand at Kansas Speedway (Kansas City, Kan.) last Friday, April 27. Lagasse Jr. lined up third to take the green on Friday and then raced the No. 4 Wayside Waifs Dodge to lead the pack for a total of 35 laps. He first grabbed the lead on lap 30, and then again on lap 94. His final return to the lead on lap 97 sealed the deal for him and the No. 4 team. It was an overall victory for all parties involved—Cunningham Motorsports and CGRFS. Also, with Wayside Waifs on board, the win helped drive home the need for pet adoption. Lagasse Jr.’s next run will be the ARCA/REMAX Buckle-Up Kentucky 150 at Kentucky Speedway in Ft. Mitchell on Saturday, May 12.

· Teen Racers on the Move: Bryan Clauson piloted David Stremme’s No. 40 Memorex Late Model car to a fourth-place finish in last Saturday’s O’Reilly Raceway Park (Clermont, Ind.) ASA North Late Model race. The 17-year old lined up 19th to take the green and then drove very patiently and consistently on his way to the top-five finish. The next stop on Clauson’s 2007 schedule is at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa, on Saturday, May 19. Clauson will climb back behind the wheel of Stremme’s No. 40 Memorex Dodge to compete in the ASA Late Model Series Challenge race. CGRFS development driver Brady Bacon also got in on the action last weekend, racing in the USAC National Sprint Car Series event at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, on Saturday. Bacon was on his way to at least a second-place finish when the hood of his car flew off as a result of the rough track surface. Instead of a top five, Bacon left the track with a top 15, finishing 14th. The 17-year-old racer was scheduled to race at the Gas City (Ind.) I-69 Speedway on Friday, but the race was rained out and has been rescheduled for Thursday, June 14. Bacon will return to competition Saturday, May 19, in the USAC National Sprint Car Series race at the Terra Haute (Ind.) Action Track.

Juan Pablo Montoya and the No. 42 Texaco/Havoline Team Facts:

· No. 42 is Top 10, Again: The No. 42 Texaco/Havoline Busch team raced its way back inside the top 10 in more ways than one this past weekend at Talladega Superspeedway. Juan Pablo Montoya and crew crossed the finish line in seventh place at the Alabama track on Saturday, which gave them the boost needed to regain their top-10 status in the NASCAR Busch Series (NBS) championship standings. The team’s current tally is 1,088 which puts it just 106 points outside the top five.

· Where’s the Rookie?: Right now, Montoya sits second in the NBS Raybestos® Rookie of the Year standings, just two points behind leader David Ragan. Montoya is, however, leading Ragan by four points in the NEXTEL Cup rookie race. So far this season, Montoya has grabbed rookie of the race honors three times in NBS competition—at Phoenix, Mexico City and Atlanta. He has also been rookie of the race three times in NEXTEL Cup competition—at Las Vegas, Atlanta and Texas.

· Did You Know?: In the Spring Busch race of 2005 when Carl Edwards grabbed the checkered flag and proceeded to Victory Lane, he and his team were led by the current leader of the No. 42 CGRFS Busch team—Brad Parrott.

· First Run at RIR: Although Montoya tested at Richmond International Raceway (RIR) last month (April 3 and 4), Friday night’s NBS race will mark his career-first start at the Virginia short track.

· Chassis: Montoya and his No. 42 Texaco/Havoline crew are going to race a familiar car at RIR this weekend—chassis #454. This is the same chassis the Colombia native made his NASCAR debut in at the Memphis (Tenn.) Motorsports Park last October, when his career-first start concluded with an 11th-place finish. The same car has also made two visits to Phoenix International Raceway. Last November, Montoya and team raced to a 20th-place finish in his career-second NASCAR start. Then, just last month, the 31-year-old racer and team scored a 21st-place finish with the same car at the Arizona track. It is also the same car Montoya’s teammate Reed Sorenson raced in March 2005 to his career-first win and pole at Nashville Superspeedway.
