INDYCAR (INDIANAPOLIS) - IMS IS THE PLACE TO HEAR INCREDIBLE LIVE MUSIC IN MAY
A star-studded lineup of popular recording artists will perform throughout the Month of May leading up to the 91st Indianapolis 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, making IMS the place to be to hear great music.
Miller Lite Carb Day headline act Kid Rock is just one of the impressive national and regional acts playing at IMS.
Rock sensation and 19/RCA recording artist Daughtry will perform on the Coca-Cola Stage at noon on Race Day, May 27 – one hour before the start of the 91st Indianapolis 500.
The Coca-Cola Stage is located in the IMS Pagoda Plaza, located directly behind the Bombardier Learjet Pagoda control tower.
Anointed as the quickest-selling rock debut in Soundscan history, “DAUGHTRY” became the No. 1, top-selling album in the country twice since its release in November 2006. “DAUGHTRY” has sold more than 2 million copies, had a No. 1 single with “It’s Not Over” and still tops the charts and radio airwaves with the addition of new hits “Home” and “What I Want.”
Headlining the musical talent on Fast Friday, May 11, will be Island Records recording artists Saliva, which are playing from 6-7 p.m. Epic recording artists Augustana will perform at 4 p.m. Pole Day, Saturday, May 12. Both bands will appear on the Coca-Cola Stage.
Memphis, Tenn.-based Saliva is on the road in 2007 to promote its new album, “Blood Stained Love Story,” featuring the hit song “Ladies and Gentlemen.”
Augustana, which was founded in nearby Greenville, Ill., will bring the music of its album “All the Stars and Boulevards,” including the songs “Boston” and “Stars & Boulevards.”
Popular acts playing on the Coca-Cola Stage on A.J. Foyt Opening Day presented by The Indianapolis Star, Sunday, May 6 include Broken English Records recording artists Just Surrender at 4 p.m., and Crown Point, Ind.-based Asteria at 2:30 p.m., which recently released the album “Slip Into Something More Comfortable.”
Regional acts also performing on the Coca-Cola Stage during May include the Psychodots at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 11, DJ Orion at 4 p.m. Friday, May 11 and 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 12, Living Proof at 2 and 4 p.m. on Coca-Cola Throwback Day, Saturday, May 19 and 101st Rock Division at 2 and 4 p.m. on Bump Day/Armed Forces Day, Sunday, May 20.
1999 Indianapolis 500 winner Kenny Brack and his band, Brack, also will perform on the Bombardier Learjet Pagoda overlooking the Speedway’s main straightaway during Freedom 100 pre-race ceremonies on Miller Lite Carb Day, May 25.
Kid Rock’s performance on Miller Lite Carb Day will take place at 3:30 p.m. on the Miller Lite Stage located in the middle of the IMS infield, directly east of the Tower Terrace grandstands.
Tickets for all qualifying days are $10, except for Coca-Cola Throwback Day, May 19, which features admission of $5.
Admission for all practice days is just $5, and admission to the grounds for all Miller Lite Carb Day activities – including the final practice for the Indianapolis 500 starting field, Indy Pro Series Freedom 100, Checkers/Rally’s Pit Stop Challenge and Kid Rock concert, is just $10.
