JEFF GORDON AUCTIONS OFF HATS, HELMETS, AND DALE JR'S FIRESUIT

--NASCAR Cup Series Champion Gordon has dug into his personal treasure chest and enlisted the help of fellow NASCAR superstar Dale Earnhardt, Jr. for a charity auction benefiting The Jeff Gordon Foundation --

GRANDVIEW,   Mo.   (October   6,   2006)   -   Four-time  NASCAR  Cup  Series  champion  and  current  Chase  for  the  NASCAR NEXTEL  Cup  contender  Jeff  Gordon  has  brought  out  the  big  guns  for  a  series  of  online  auctions  that  will  benefit  The  Jeff Gordon  Foundation.  The  auctions  will  give  racing  fans  and  collectors  the  opportunity  to  own  unique  pieces  of  racing  history that have rarely before been made available to the general public.

The  online  auctions  are  being  hosted  by  GoMotorBids.com,  the  official  online  auction  house  of  The  Jeff  Gordon  Foundation and  Jeff  Gordon,  Inc.,  and  include  a  complete  set  of  "hat  dance"  caps  from  Gordon's  first  win  at  Chicagoland  Speedway,  one of   Gordon's   official   helmets,   and   an   authentic   race-used   Dale   Earnhardt,   Jr.   Budweiser   firesuit.   All   of   these   items   are autographed by their respective drivers.

"Our goal with The Jeff Gordon Foundation weekly online auction was to provide unique, one-of-a-kind items that would add something special to the most dedicated fans collection while generating funds to support children with chronic and life- threatening illnesses." said Jules Moss, Business Development Manager of The Jeff Gordon Foundation. "We were very excited when Dale Earnhardt, Jr. gave us one of his race-used firesuits for the auction. With his firesuit and the race helmet Jeff provided, both the Jeff Gordon and Dale Jr. race fans will be able to bid on their drivers' hard to acquire items and help children in the process."

The  set  of  hat  dance  caps  represents  racing  history,  as  they  were  all  worn  by  Gordon  during  his  first  visit  to  the  winner's circle  at  the  Chicagoland  Speedway  after  winning  the  2006  USG  Sheetrock  400.  Most  race  fans  are  familiar  with  the  "hat dance",  as  it  happens  in  vi ctory  lane  after  every  race.  The  driver  and  crew  members  pose  for  a  large  number  of  pictures, changing   hats   after   each   shot.   The   hats   feature   the   logos   of   all   the   various   sponsors,   associate   sponsors,   and   other supporting organizations, and the whole process can sometimes take up to half-an-hour.

"We  were  really  in  awe  of  some  of  the  items  that  Jeff  was  willing  to  auction  off."  said  Pat  Rainey,  director  of  marketing  for GoMotorBids.com.  "Things  like  the  helmet  and  uniform  usually  go  to  sponsors  or  team  VIP's,  so  this  is  really  a  wonderful opportunity for fans to bid on a true collectible, while raising money for a great cause at the same time."

All  of  The  Jeff  Gordon  Foundation  auctions  have  a  starting  bid  of  $1.  With  no  minimum  reserve  price,  the  highest  bidder will win.    Each  auction  item  is  accompanied  by  a  special  Certificate  of  Authenticity,  jointly  crafted  by  Jeff  Gordon,  Inc.  and GoMotorBids.com  which  has  been  designed  to  thwart  counterfeiters.  For  more  information  and  to  view  the  first      items  up  for auction, visit www.GoMotorBids.com.
