HEITZMAN, ANDERSON TAKE WINS AT TRI-STATE
EARLVILLE, Iowa - In the final results from Tri-State
Raceway and the NHRA West Central Division Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series
it was Dave Heitzman in Top Alcohol Dragster and Paul Anderson in Top
Alcohol Funny Car coming out on top and taking home the trophies.
Heitzman laid down a lap of 5.513 seconds at 252.14 mph in the final
where he was unopposed as Ed Schmeeckle was disqualified in his
semifinal run when he broke on the burnout and was unable to make it to
the starting line. The win was the first West Central Division win of
'07 for Heitzman out of Grand Rapids, Ohio.
Erie, Colo., resident Anderson took out Roger Batman with a run of 5.827
seconds at 243.77. Anderson took out defending division and former
national champion Cy Chesterman in his semifinal match with a 5.789
second, 248.48 mph run which was the quickest run of eliminations for

Bud Miller of Edwardsville, Kan., joined the winners taking
out Bruno Mussel in Comp Eliminator while Tony Shaffer won over Michael
Mans in Super Stock.
A pair of Iowa racers won in Super Gas and Super Street with
Steve Ottilie of Marshalltown, Iowa, winning over Jim LaBrode in Super
Gas and Justin Rosenbohn of LeClair, Iowa, took out Nick Vogelsang in
Super Street.
Picking up wins in other classes were Steve Koppien over
Glen Demenge in Stock Eliminator; Jeff Cheney over reigning National
Champion Gary Stinnett in Super Comp; Matt Driskell in Top Comp; and
Craig Vost out of Mead, Neb., in Sportsman Motorcycle presented by
Harley Davidson.
