*Anderson No. 1 with record setting pass*

MOHNTON, Penn. (September 29, 2006) -- It didn't take the Pro Stock
cars long to find out how good the conditions were at Maple Grove
Raceway, near Reading, Pa., for the rerun of the rain-delayed Toyo Tires
Nationals. In fact, it took only one qualifying session. By the end of
that first session, the Pro Stock class had established the quickest
qualified field in NHRA history.

The Pro Stock field in that first qualifying session was anchored by
Greg Anderson, driver of the KB Racing LLC / Summit Racing Equipment
Pontiac GTO, who recorded an elapsed time of 6.631 seconds. The bump
spot, the No. 16 qualifier, was held by V. Gaines, who ran an elapsed
time of 6.682 seconds.

But wait things got lower after the second Pro Stock qualifying session.

In that second qualifying session, Anderson not only held on to the No.
1 qualifying position but lowered the national elapsed time and speed
record when he blazed the Maple Grove Raceway track with an elapsed time
of 6.626 seconds at a speed of 208.91 mph. This reestablished the
elapsed time national record of 6.631 seconds that Anderson set in July
of this year at Sonoma and tied again in the first qualifying session
today. It also raised the previous national speed record of 208.23 mph
that Anderson set in March of 2005 at Gainesville Raceway in Florida.

A national elapsed time record is worth a bonus of 20 points to the
driver that leaves the national event with the record. Since 1985 (when
the NHRA first visited this venue for a national event), the national
elapsed time record in Pro Stock has now been set at Maple Grove Raceway
five times and the speed record twice.

Also, not only did Anderson do his part to lead the quickest Pro Stock
field in NHRA but the entire field got quicker after two of four
qualifying sessions with the No. 16 spot now being held by Dave
Northrop, who is on the bump with a pass of 6.664 seconds.

"It's mineshaft conditions here at Maple Grove this weekend," said
Anderson, following the first day of qualifying. "Maybe it is good we
didn't run here two weeks ago. We're expecting more of the same
tomorrow. We know the record is already going to fall; it's just a
matter of whose hands it falls into. Right now we've got a grasp on it
but there are many cars out here that can get it. So we feel we're
going to have to run quicker tomorrow to hold onto the record.

"With only four races left [in the season], it is definitely crunch time
and those 20 points are very important. Obviously, we want it bad for
one of our two cars. [Teammate] Jason [Line] broke a push rod otherwise
I think he might have run quicker that me. Conditions are supposed to
be even better tomorrow, so we both want to get after it."

Qualifying for Anderson and his KB Racing LLC/Summit Racing Equipment
Pro Stock Pontiac GTO concludes with two additional Pro Stock sessions
tomorrow, Sept. 30, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Anderson begins his quest for
the Toyo Tires Nationals Pro Stock title on Sunday, Oct. 1, with
eliminations for all classes beginning at 11 a.m. *All times are local
