TONY PEDREGON AND THE Q POWER RACE TEAM REACH SEMI-FINALS IN TOPEKA; MOVE TO
5TH IN POINTS

2006 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series
Round 9 of 23
NHRA Summer Nationals at Heartland Park Topeka (Kan.)
Race Date: May 26-28, 2006

TOPEKA, Kan. (May 29, 2006) - Tony Pedregon and his Q Power Race Team
reached the semi-final round at Heartland Park Topeka (Kan.) during the
O'Reilly NHRA Summer Nationals this past weekend in the NHRA Nitro Funny Car
division, moving him into 5th in the 2006 point standings.

"Our Q Power team really made progress this past weekend," Pedregon said.
"A year ago, we were having trouble running on a hot track. But our
semi-final round appearance, combined with the two wins before that, proves
that we're getting a handle on all areas of our program. Our goal, if we
couldn't make it three wins in a row, was to at least move up in the points,
and we did that (moved from 6th to 5th). The Topeka race was a continuation
of the momentum we've built up over the past month, and I certainly hope to
keep that momentum going as we head to Chicago next weekend."

In 2005, Tony Pedregon and the Q Power Race Team finished 7th in points with
two wins, was #1 qualifier three times and recorded the second quickest
elapsed time in NHRA history at 4.680 seconds in Chicago.
