Andretti Green Racing and AirTran Airways Continue
Partnership
FONTANA, Calif. (Oct. 15, 2005) - Andretti Green Racing announced today it is continuing
its partnership with AirTran Airways, beginning with Sunday's Indy Racing LeagueŽ IndyCarŽ Series
season finale at California Speedway and extending through the 2006 IndyCar Series campaign.
Earlier this season, AirTran Airways aligned itself with Andretti Green as an associate
sponsor for three consecutive events, which included the 89th running of the Indianapolis 500 and
races at Texas Motor Speedway and Richmond International Raceway.
AirTran Airways, which uses Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport as its
operational hub, is one of America's largest low-fare airlines.
"Andretti Green and AirTran Airways enjoyed a very successful partnership earlier this year
and we're very excited to have them back with us," said Michael Andretti, who co-owns Andretti
Green Racing with partners Kim Green and Kevin Savoree. "AirTran Airways is one of the leaders in
the airline industry and is exactly the type of successful company we like to be associated with."
AirTran Airways will continue to serve as an associate sponsor with the two-time defending
IndyCar Series champions, which will once again feature a four-car lineup in 2006. The four cars are
driven by 2005 Indianapolis 500 winner and 2005 IndyCar Series champion Dan Wheldon, 2004
IndyCar Series champion Tony Kanaan, Nashville race winner Dario Franchitti and Michigan winner
Bryan Herta. The four drivers have combined to win 20 races since the team joined Indy Racing
League competition in 2003. Andretti Green is the winningest team in IndyCar Series history and
has also won three Menards Infiniti Pro Series events in six attempts in 2005 with driver Marco
Andretti.
"At AirTran Airways, we only partner with the best brands in the business and there is no
better brand than Andretti Green Racing," said Robert L. Fornaro, president and chief operating
officer of AirTran Airways. "In a short period of time earlier this year, we shared an Indy 500 victory
and then teamed up for a successful launch of our service in Richmond, Va. We're looking forward
to more great results for both AirTran Airways and Andretti Green in the future."
In addition to its partnership with Andretti Green, AirTran Airways also boasts a relationship
with XM Satellite Radio, which serves as the major sponsor for the #7 Honda-powered machine
driven by Herta. AirTran Airways is the first carrier to install XM Satellite Radio on a commercial
aircraft.
