NHRA Summit Racing Series Northwest Division Finals-Saturday from Pacific Raceways



RAIN FORCES OFFICIALS TO RESHUFFLE SCHEDULE AT NHRA SUMMIT RACING SERIES
FINALS AT PACIFIC RACEWAYS

KENT, Wash. - Action at the NHRA Northwest Division Summit Racing Series
Finals at Pacific Raceways was rained out Saturday.  The Race of Champions,
a race within a race that pits the top points earning drivers from each
track against each other, has been rescheduled for Monday.  

The Summit Racing Series Finals features top racers representing tracks from
across the region running for individual and team honors.  More than 500
drivers in four classes are vying for a share of the $10,600 cash purse.
Competitors in the High School class and two divisions of Jr. Dragster will
earn trophies.

Race of Champion winners in Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman and
Motorcycle/Snowmobile will advance to a national run-off in November at the
NHRA Auto Club of Southern California Finals at Pomona Raceway in Pomona,
Calif.  There, they will compete for a national championship and a
winner-take-all purse of $5,000 for each class.  Each driver who advances
will receive an additional $3,500 for competing in Pomona.

Eliminations for the NHRA Northwest Division Summit Racing Series Finals
will start as scheduled Sunday morning at 9 o'clock.  Gates at Pacific
