Cruz Pedregon Memphis Eliminations Wrap Up
 
MILLINGTON, Tenn. (Aug. 21, 2005) ­ Cruz Pedregon and the Advance Auto Parts
Nitro Funny Car fell in the first round of eliminations during today¹s
Mid-South NHRA Nationals at Memphis Motorsports Park.

Pedregon held an advantage off the starting line (.096 - .113), but he lost
traction and drove to a 5.427-second elapsed time at 253.99 mph. Force
recorded a 5.192-second pass at 279.90 mph.

³We had a good start, but it got away from us at about half track,² Pedregon
said. ³Sometimes you wish you could have a pit stop halfway down the track
to change set ups.

³We¹re real optimistic about Indy though,² Pedregon continued. ³We¹re going
to test on Tuesday and Wednesday and get these cars ready for ŒThe Big Go.¹²
