Cruz Pedregon Grabs Eighth After Day One
The Advance Auto Parts Team Looking For Another Top-Half Effort

MILLINGTON, Tenn. (Aug. 19, 2005) ­ Cruz Pedregon and the Advance Auto Parts
Nitro Funny Car entry opened this weekendıs Mid-South NHRA Nationals at
Memphis Motorsports Park in the eighth position.

Even though the second session was completely under the lights, heat still
played a big factor. Pedregon, the 1992 POWERade Funny Car World Champion,
completed a pass of 4.993 seconds at 301.20 mph.

³It was a pretty good run tonight,² Pedregon said. ³The heat made it a
little tougher to get traction out there, but the team did a great job of
making adjustments and adapting. Weıll see about tomorrow because we want to
stay in the top half.²
