Tony Pedregon Takes Seventh in Englishtown Qualifying
Q Racing Team In The Top Half of the Field

ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. (June 18, 2005) Tony Pedregon and the Q Racing team
finished qualifying today for the K&N Filters SuperNationals at Old Bridge
Township Raceway Park. The Q Racing Nitro Funny Car driver held on to his
run from Friday night of 4.821 seconds at 318.39 mph to claim the seventh
qualifying spot.

During todayıs first session, Pedregon started very aggressively, but the
track was not able to hold and turned the pass into tire smoke. In the last
session, the Q Racing driver had a solid run pedaling the car to a
4.881-second elapsed time at 301.67 mph.

³The car was a little too light in the front today,² Dickie Venables (crew
chief) said. ³We had too much spoiler and the car got off the groove. The
goal was to go for the top spot but it could not be.

³Tomorrow we plan to go back to the hot track set up’² added Venables. ³It
seems the weather will stay in the 70s but we donıt know what the
track temperature is going to be, so weıll have to be able to adapt. The Q
Racing team has the performance and is making strides in consistency. I feel
Weıre right on the edge of doing something good.²

Pedregon will run against No. 10 qualifier Ron Capps in the first round of
eliminations, scheduled to start tomorrow at 11 a.m. (ET)
