Q Racing Team Looking For Consistency
ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. (June 17, 2005) Tony Pedregon fueled his ŒQı Racing Nitro
Funny Car to the No.7 qualifying position during Fridayıs K&N Filters
SuperNationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park.
The 2003 NHRA Funny Car Champion was able to take advantage of the nightıs
cooler conditions clicking off a 4.821-second elapsed time at 318.39 mph.
The pass placed the Q Racing car in the top half of the field, setting the
team up nicely for tomorrow.
³That was a good pass,² Pedregon said. ³We know the car is running well, we
are pleased with the way it is performing. Our objective now is to be
consistent. Once we have both variables, consistency and performance, weıll
have a winning combination.²
Dickie Venables, crew chief, elaborated on todayıs qualifying.
³It is very important for us to make it down the track in every run,²
Venables added. ³We are being conservative because we need to collect as
much data as possible. If you donıt cover the track, you cannot get data. I
am satisfied the ŒQı car put on two solid runs today that placed us in the
top half of the field.²
