Green set for 200th Career start in Music City
Nashville, Tenn. – When Mark Green takes the green flag on Saturday it will mark the beginning of his 200th career start as a driver on the Nascar Busch Series.
Green began racing on the series in 1995 and has raced for several organizations before coming to work at Keith Coleman Racing last fall. Over the years Green has recorded one top-five and 13 top-10 finishes. With an average career starting position of 22.9 and a career average finish of 24.5, Green has career prize earnings in excess of two million dollars.
But it was never about the numbers for Green.
“I just want to race,” he said. “That’s all I’ve ever wanted to do. It hasn’t always been easy and there were some times when I felt like I was taking a knife to a gun fight but I’ve always done whatever I could to get behind the wheel of that race car.”
And he isn’t showing any signs of slowing down any time soon.
